After 27 years of dedication to Rio Ranch, Chef San has decided to retire.  We truly will miss his amazing palate and passion for food.  Thank you Chef!

Our legendary, mesquite wood-grilled steaks don't just happen by accident. They are masterfully prepared by Executive Chef San Hemwattikit, who proudly displays his talent in the open kitchen, where he precisely executes the Rio Ranch concept founded by both himself and Chef Robert DelGrande of Café Annie.  

A native of Thailand, Chef Hemwattakit attended college in Sacramento, California and utilized a combination of experience and instincts to cultivate professional, self-taught methods that yield award-winning dishes. Among his numerous honors include a first-place finish in the Gene Wild Man cook-off for his Roasted Wild Boar specialty. He has had the prestigious honor to cook for President George Bush and other world leaders at the 1990 Economic Summit.
