Our Story

A New Era for a Houston Original

Rio Ranch has been a West Houston landmark since January 1993 — a restaurant built on the belief that a great meal is about more than food. It's about the warmth of the room, the people at the table and the stories you leave with.

Thirty-plus years in, that belief hasn't changed. What has changed is the menu. Under new ownership managed by American Liberty Hospitality and Escalera Capital, and with a full property refresh underway at the Hilton Houston Westchase, Rio Ranch is entering its next great chapter.

The Rio Saloon

Pull up a rawhide barstool at the 22-foot mesquite wood bar and you'll find some of Texas' best bourbons, single malt scotches and an evolving cocktail menu that blends Italian aperitivo culture with Gulf Coast spirit. The ceiling above you was salvaged from a pre-Civil War barn. A sweeping mural on the wall captures one of the last great trail rides across Texas in the 1890s.

Italian Heart with Texas Soul

The refresh isn't a reinvention — it's an evolution. Executive Chef Godstime Ebeagbor has brought a new culinary language to Rio Ranch, one rooted in Italian technique and Texas ingredients. Local ranchers. Gulf Coast seafood. Fresh pasta. Bold, honest flavors.

"The vision is to stay local," Chef Ebeagbor says. "By partnering with local butchers and farmers, we can create a narrative for our guests. I like a dish to tell a story and provide a full experience."
